So if you haven't guessed by now, I am Miss Emtifah and this is my blog. While not exactly new to the world of blogging, I wanted to create a space where I could share what is going on with my friends and family. This is where I am going to talk about what I am eating, what I am reading, what I am listening to, what I am watching, what I am creating, and where I have been and where I am going. So if you have a moment or two and are curious about what's been going on with me, just grab yourself a glass of the beverage of your choice and read on through.
Weekly Update
January 24, 2014
I'm wiped.
That's about as much as my brain wants to say. Work has been, how shall I say it, intense. I've been working late evenings and weekends (as well as part of my holiday). Hopefully it'll all be done soon. But it is what needs to be done for a pay check. Moving is a long process. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Last week I finally got around to hanging up some paintings that had just been hanging around the house I know have a gallery wall of flower paintings (well one painting is of shells but I might switch that piece out with something else. I'm going to love looking at that wall because it only has paintings that me, my mom, or my old watercolor teacher painted. It definitely brings back some really lovely memories. Anyways, I'm still working on hanging paintings in my bedroom as well. I'm not sure why it is taking me this long to get to it. I'm also putting together a "china cabinet" for my place. So the awesome thing about my building is that they do pest control and other maintenance work on a bi-monthly basis. This means no bugs. Yay! But it also means that I have to take everything that I am storing above my kitchen cabinets down so they can treat that area. Unfortunately that is most of my breakables - vases, ceramic bowls, large serving dishes. It's a tedious process, so I've decided to make it easier and just buy a piece for my dining room to keep that stuff in. It feels a little grown up (even if it is just a BYO piece from IKEA). Finally I got another two books read for my book challenge. I'll have reviews of them up soon. Luv, Ms. Em |
